Instruction shadowing – a staff member from outside the Library is interning five hours a week with Elaine this semester to see if librarianship is something they want to pursue, and would like the opportunity to shadow some instruction sessions. If you have a class coming up where you could host the intern, let Julia or Leah know.

Discussion of Activities for This Year

Teaching with AI – Could CLAP create a ready-made module to insert into an instructor’s lesson plan? Challenge of creating something that works each time, rapid changes in AI means what you used one week won’t be the same/won’t work the next

Hearing from seasoned teachers about how they teach

Share experiences, knowledge of the classroom – activities, what works, what doesn’t, lessons learned, what looks good in theory but isn’t in practice

Activities that promote active learning

Session on LibGuides and other tools, technologies instructors use

How to preserve your voice when leading many tours/classes (try to schedule now and also as an option for end of year event)

Re-use content of presentations CLAP members made for this group for end of semester event with a larger audience across CUL

Present successful class taught in specific discipline (law, English, science, etc) – would also be an opportunity to demonstrate if someone used a teaching technique shared by someone else earlier in the year and how it worked for them
