Attending:
        Eric Acree, Camille Andrews, Ken Bolton, Tony Cosgrave (chair and recorder), Jaron Porciello, and Lynn Thitchener.

Announcements and updates:
        Camille made a few announcements regarding the upcoming Information Competency Institute.  She updated committee members on the schedule and list of participants.
        Eric mentioned that he had sent an email to the appropriate staff regarding the "Area Studies" category on the Library Guides page indicated that several of the guides were not Area Studies guides but in fact Ethnic Studies guides.  A new category has been created and the Ethnic Studies guides were relocated to this new category.

Information Literacy and Assessment Workshop:
        A number of committee members and members from RAU as well as David Way from the Center for Teaching Excellence attended this webinar series.  Links to the archives of the sessions have been distributed to CU-Lib.

Committee membership:
        Eric Acree and Thomas Mills have completed their tenure on the committee and new members need to be found to fill their memberships.  Tony will write to Pat Court, PSEC Liaison, regarding the vacancies.
        
LIPP Professional Development panel:
        We discussed the Professional Development Week panel on the Library Instruction Partner Program (LIPP).  Panel members included: Eric Acree, Camille Andrews, Ken Bolton, Kaila Bussert, Tony Cosgrave (moderator), Ryan Krolick, Jaron Porciello, Neely Tang and Lynn Thitchener.

Library Knowledge Sharing Systems Committee:
        Tony reported that Nan Hyland contacted him regarding this new committee functioning as a sub-committee of the Instruction Committee.  Camille will serve on both groups and will serve as liaison between them. The new committee had not met yet but Camille agreed to keep committee members informed of the sub-committee's activities.  Once the new committee has had a chance to meet we will consider scheduling a meeting of the members of both committees to share ideas.

Needs assessment and future brown bags/forums:
        Committee members reviewed the results of the needs assessment it performed and noted issues that have been addressed and identified some that need to be addressed.  In particular, active learning and use of classroom technologies are needs that were on the list.  The committee plans to meet before the start of the next semester to plan some new brown bags or forums on these topics.

        Lynn Thitchener, with help from other committee members, has been working on a bibliography of sources relating to teaching and learning in libraries.  The site includes a small list of carefully selected sources in the following areas: "Books and Articles," "Resources on the Web," Resources at Cornell," and "Research."  Committee members are encouraged to add additional resources and Library staff are encouraged to add comments and suggest additional resources.
