ERM
This project requires getting ERM (Electronic Resource Management) usage statistics from EBSCO as an Excel file on a regular schedule and importing this data into an AWS reporting database. The ERM Tableau dashboard
-selectors want both dashboard and excel files
-would be ideal to have the data sent to us monthly
-separate the files by material/resource type
-need to see how to
-this is a file that comes out of the EBSCO Admin application, Usage Consolidation Reports, Title Usage Reports, Title Usage Details
-if EBSCO could put the data into an S3 bucket for the AWS instance
-first 5 rows of title information that needs to be removed just delete the first 5 rows
Here are the specifics on the data that is needed from Ebsco once every six months:
- From the ‘Usage Consolidation Reports’ we need ‘Title Usage Details’, and it should include ALL the options (all metric types, all resource types, all access types, and all access methods).
- Also from the ‘Usage Consolidation Reports’ we need ‘Database Usage Reports’ , also with all options included (all metric types, and all database types). Screenshots for both are below.
Lib Pass
-system of record for annual data; all FOLIO and nonFOLIO data stored here for Annual Statistics; goes back to 2008
-used to generate CUL Statistical Trends reports
-709 columns of data; Vandana and Linda are normalizing the data
-Gabby wants all the annual data in time series on one Tableau dashboards
-Vandana downloads data from Lib Pass one year at a time
-Vandana will want to import the data into the data warehouse once a year before June
-in future, units will be asked to enter data into an Excel file and imported to the AWS server
-each year's data is about 100K
-data will be stored on the AWS server as well as on the X fileserver
-Tableau Interactive form input will be 30K
-AWS warehouse is already set up
-set up a server
