Hi Jerry,

It is time for the annual renewal of our Hosting Services Customer agreement. We will be renewing on-line again this year. Your Customer ID is 1556, this is for the IWS LAMP instance.  You’ll probably want to change the secondary contact from Al Gonzales to Shannon.

To renew, please go to http://hosting.cit.cornell.edu/agree/renew-fy11.cfm, you will see a line for each service you are currently listed as a contact for.  Select the "renew" link and review the information in the following form, it is important that you validate the Billing Account Number for the new fiscal year. Once you've validated the information as correct, select "yes" in the renewal box at the bottom and submit.

With the budget situation we are currently in, I've been getting some questions about billings for custom support.  Several months ago we put together some examples of things that are and are not billable.  That information is available at http://hosting.cit.cornell.edu/cit/hosting/upload/BillingExamples.pdf, these are examples not an exhaustive list.

For FY10, you incurred $144 for custom support, that is a combined number with ColdFusion and CommonSpot.

The cost for CommonSpot continues to be $2000 per year.

Please budget appropriately for the coming year.

Even with the necessity of passing through these costs, we believe we offer excellent value to the Cornell Community with the hosting services we offer.

Other potential budget impacts for the coming fiscal year:

With the completion of the ColdFusion 9 implementation, please plan on migrating existing sites to the new environment.

We are anticipating an upgrade to our CommonSpot hosting service this year which will require a migration of CommonSpot sites, please budget accordingly for that as well.

LAMP customers can also expect an upgrade in the coming year which may require some migrations work.

We look forward to serving you in the coming year.

Jon Atherton
