Set-up Instructions
As an initial step, we recommend that you first access Trail Tracker before it is locked in through Site Kiosk to make sure the application will operate correctly within the kiosk. All you need to do is copy and paste the correct url into the browser, and press F11 to go into full screen mode. If it appears that some buttons or scroll bars are missing and the entire screen page is not visible, you will need to adjust the monitor screen resolution so that it is set at 1280 X 1024
The application will be fully functional for you at this point.
I have pasted below a series of steps to secure the computer against unauthorized access and lock it in on the Trail Tracker application:
(1) You will need to download SiteKiosk at
http://www.sitekiosk.com/en-US/Downloads/Download.aspx?ItemId=1
(2) Run the setup program. When you are prompted, just use all of the default options and continue pressing "next". On the last screen, after everything has been installed press "Finish" to go into the SiteKiosk configuration program.
(3) In the welcome screen of the "Configure SiteKiosk" application you should enter the license information to register SiteKiosk. CLO will provide that information prior to your installation.
(4) Important: be sure to load the provided configuration file before running SiteKiosk. Save this configuration file somewhere on the hard drive (we recommend putting it in the default location of C:/ProgramFiles/SiteKiosk/Config). On the same Welcome screen there will be an option to load an existing configuration. Browse to the config file and select it. Press OK, and select "overwrite old configuration file". (A "SiteKiosk" startup options dialog will appear. On this page you can choose whether or not to have SiteKiosk automatically login as the SiteKiosk windows user and go immediately to the eBird Trail Tracker when the computer boots up. NOTE: The default windows login password for the SiteKiosk user is 'provisio'). Press "OK". It will now prompt you to restart the computer. If all goes well, when the computer boots up or when you run the SiteKiosk manually it should go into full screen restricted mode and you should see the eTT application. If you need to exit restricted mode to reconfigure SiteKiosk or login as a different Windows user, press 'Esc' and follow the instructions here: Exiting eTT
