As of Summer 2025, CNF no longer separately licenses or installs MATLAB – licensing is available to Cornell faculty, staff, and students via CU Software Licensing.
Cornell Student licensing for currently registered students at Cornell University, for installation onto student-owned equipment only, is available at no cost.
- Student licenses may NOT be installed onto any Cornell-owned computer.
Academic licensing for faculty and staff must be paid for by Cornell departmental funds:
- Installation onto Cornell-owned equipment only
- Home Use licensing available at no extra cost.
On CNF systems, users may instead use Octave
