Background information: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Kinondoni (antigenic formula 17:a:e,n,x) is a serovar of the O:17 (J) serogroup.

Genetic characteristics: Serovar Kinondoni is considered rare, and there is no known literature that has studied it.

Animal reservoir: To date, the Linnaeus lizard remains the only known animal reservoir for serovar Kinondoni.

Geographical distribution: Serovar Kinondoni has been reported in the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia
