Member Bio - Samuel Ramos

Sam Ramos is the chief legal officer for Global Atlantic Financial Group, with
responsibilities for legal, compliance and regulatory, and government affairs.
In addition, he serves on the company’s executive committee. Ramos received
his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Cornell and his
Master of Science degree in systems engineering from NYU Tandon School of
Engineering. He was a practicing engineer for seven years before pursuing a
legal career. Ramos attended Hofstra University School of Law and served as
law clerk to Judge C. Arlen Beam of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals before
joining the New York law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell where he specialized in
securities law. After six years at S&C, he left to join the New York investment
bank of Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he served as a managing director and

associate
general counsel, and then as a founding member of the Goldman Sachs
Reinsurance Group, which was renamed Global Atlantic Financial Group and
sold. Ramos currently serves on the Dean’s Alumni Advisory Board advising
the dean of Hofstra University School of Law.
