  • Reuse content from MALT Report; MALT Findings Report; and Space Task Force Report
  • Refer to Steelcase Planning Document; NC State Toolklit; online research; Van Tienhoven Trip; Communication faculty and students; DEA faculty and students

Important points to consider:

  • Assessment and ongoing assessment-how will we accomplish that? Traditional ways--surveys, focus groups, interviews.  Also experimental spaces; put something out there and observe use
  • Emerging partnerships with academic partners---CTE, CIT, etc.
  • Where do we see the future going? Think holistically about impacts-- mobile technology, cloud, desktop computing impacts
  • How do today's students work collaboratively?  Refer to MALT studies, research, other institutions, etc.
  • Multi-media's role; multi media studios?
  • Role of scale up clasrooms; large mobile spaces for use of graduate students
  • Display space for projects
  • Providing student social space where students can "happen upon another conversation" and join in
  • Fluid/dynamic environment--things will change; any plan needs to be flexible and forgiving; ok to fail
