Cuatro Comunidades
The roof is almost complete for the construction of the new AguaClara treatment plant for the Communities: Los Bayos, Aldea Bonito, Rio Frio and La Jaguas.
The bottom of the sedimentation tanks has been filled with the sloping bottoms to collect sludge.
The shaft connecting the channel to the sedimentation tank has also been complete. They are still going to smooth the turn so the water does not need to make a complete 90 degree turn and there is less opportunity to cause buildup.
We finalized the designs of the concrete plate settlers that will control the flow coming from the flocculation tank.
We also decided to build a curtain into the plant entrance tank to help stabilize the level to better be accommodated for the new dose controller.
Documentation of Plant Performance
The director of APP Jacobo Nunez has scheduled a meeting between Martin Rivera of the Peace Corps and Geraldo __ from CARE to help us narrow what aspects of the AguaClara technology need to be better documented.
CCC Study
AguaClara would like to work with SANAA to devise a study to evaluate the CCC (Controlador Caudal de Cloro). We are working on putting together a document to explain the terms of this study.
AguaClara Plant Manual
An extensive plant manual was written by John, Carol and Antonio and presented to the Tamara operator and Water Board in the official handing over of the project to the community. In practice, it is possible that the manual is too detailed to be referred to often. Antonio is working on making a simple version.
