I am working with the Plate Settler Spacing research team. With my team I helped set up and monitor experiments designed to test tube-settler robustness by varying alum dosage, and then I . We collected and analyzed the data using Excel. Following the alum dose experiments I worked on comparing different methods of modeling the floc rollup problem by trying to determine a my team and I used Mathcad to try to determine what particle diameter and critical velocity that minimizes discrepancy between the methodswould cause floc rollup in the tube settler. We just began collecting experimental data on this by ramping the flow rate to see exactly when floc rollup occurs.
