Background information. Salmonella enterica enterica subsp. enterica serovar Bareilly(antigenic formula 6,7,14:y:1,5) is a serovar of the O:7 (C1) serogroup. Other than being derived from animal samples described below, serovar Bareilly has also been isolated from sludge, river water, bivalve mussels, and composite food (spelt with tomatoes and pesto).
