Housekeeping- Kelee taking notes
Announcements- starting in January, Kelly will be on remote contract until the end of June. Mark is also leaving to take a position at Vanderbilt University, in December. Repurpose our December meeting for social.
Goal setting:
Develop an instructional philosophy aligned with information literacy components of Cornell’s Undergraduate Learning Outcomes and publicize on our website.
Ex: OSU and Arizona
is this vision or mission? - mission, it aims to define out current work and purpose of such work Purpose would be outward facing- for faculty and admin to find. Show our commitment to the university goals. Follows best practices. Talk about this with library directors meeting- outreach can look at this. Good timing to get a sense of library instruction in our portfolio of services. Develop a timely service. Would create consistency in the message and consensus. Could do a retreat to work on this with post-its? Get feedback from library directors to get information to include. Need to find a time to retreat.
Develop a strategy to market our workshops to students, faculty, and staff using library and non-library channels. There is a subteam for outreach to address this.
Continue to provide relevant professional development to instructors across CUL, specially exploring online design and instruction. Talked about e-learning being a potential focus for professional development- ranging from online learning, hybrid technologies and so on. Talked about CTI- online design workshop for librarians.
Sub-team updates
Assessment- Oct 20 Fall CLIQ refresher, preparing to share overview and recommendation on assessment. Participation is declining. Trying to refresh and make sure work is useful and assessment serves a purpose. We will have four semester to share. Continue to assess your students.
Program- small update. Dec 13 tentative date for end of semester event.
Libguides- Springshare programs- what that looks look to have a shared meeting for libstaffer, libcal, libscheduler, and libguides. PTAC is reviewing libstaff and the Mann program. Libguides needs to meet to talk about who will lead in the future.
PowerNotes at Cornell
Programming- Webinar for us during November meeting. Not marketing but how to use. Need to verify it is not just html, and not pdf. Need to get on R&O agenda (December maybe). Citation source identification is still iffy. PDF functionality seems to not be working. Who should we share this with? Tutoring center, Knight Writing. Still have some details to work out. Everyone please test out the system and make a list of questions to ask PN about when we do training.
Outreach- follows outside of training with PN
