      work
        1. work Purpose would be outward facing- for faculty and admin to find.  Show our commitment to the university goals. Follows best practices.  Talk about this with library directors meeting- outreach can look at this.  Good timing to get a sense of library instruction in our portfolio of services. Develop a timely service. Would create consistency in the message and consensus.  Could do a retreat to work on this with post-its?  Get feedback from library directors to get information to include. Need to find a time to retreat.

      1. Develop a strategy to market our workshops to students, faculty, and staff using library and non-library channels.    There is a subteam for outreach to address this.

      2. Continue to provide relevant professional development to instructors across CUL, specially exploring online design and instruction. Talked about e-learning being a potential focus for professional development- ranging from online learning, hybrid technologies and so on. Talked about CTI- online design workshop for librarians.

  1. Agenda, September 13, 2017
    1. House keeping -Kelee Notetaking
    2. Announcements-  Powernotes announcement- Need to check if it is device specific, or related to account.  Need to research Chrome, adding an extension to a library computer and see if can login.  Kelee needs to send the link to PSEC Instruction and let everyone know they can create an account to test it.  We need a roll out team- Kelee, and Communication and outreach team (as available), Nina maybe?  Aliqae- liaise with liaisons.
    3. Orientation feedback from those who taught workshops- blanket statement- numbers were way down.. what might cause this?  we did not see parents as usual... what might be having an effect on this?.  Events that fall outside the calendar may not be promoted.  This is a 'wicked' problem.  Consider CUL vs library level orientation, example of ILR orientation events.   Faculty seem a bit busier as well.  Need to consider capacity  What makes the best use of our time and is effective for meeting the needs of the students.  How can we get on college level new student orientation events??
    4. How we work with Library Director's leadership team-  Mary- can the instruction group get on the LDLT meeting to run issue by them: assessment, orientation, others.  We are a case study in how groups work with LDLT.  How do we give feedback to and feedback from, and how do we get on agenda's.  We can shape the goal, what do we want to convey and what is important for the coming year.  what are sticking points.  what input do we need. Need to consider work with CTI and other departments on campus. How are director's using the assessment data. what information do they need from us to advocate for the library on the university level.  What's next for us?- next meeting in early october and retreat in early october... but perhaps we can be ready for a november meeting?  Want to make sure we include a component for international students, and students traveling internationally.   An the upside: fake news is drawing attention, new UP and UL are both interested in IL, this is our moment.  What do we do as CUL and align goals down and up. Keep this on the agenda for next meeting, we want everyone in PSEC instruction to have a say.  Want this finalized for Nov. meeting   (side note Look up #CUSciStory)
