The Fall '09 ANC Control team tried using a different theory (that of lime 'particles' and tube settler spacing equations) to obtain a consistency between the theoretical and experimental results, this theory was only true for a certain brand of lime after having a certain composition and particle size distribution for which the lime feeder ran for a maximum uninterrupted duration of 4hrs 20min. (I disagree that theory only works for a certain type of lime particle. What is not working is that certain parameters have changed By using a different brand these and maybe other parameters changed, that need to be re-tested.)

Many parameters control the pH performance of the lime feeder (such as upflow velocities of water, quality of water, quality of lime (What do you mean by this?its composition and particle size distribution), quantity of lime, constructional design of the lime feeder (What other designs are you proposing then?), duration for which a stable pH of 12 is obtained, etc.). (Be more specific about parameters you are investigating.) During the Fall '09 experiments, a new design of a lime feeder was tried out and performance was tested against water quality and lime quality. Hence, the future goals for the coming teams include:
