Overview
Microsoft Office is installed on all CNF Computing Windows workstations. For your convenience, the version of Office installed does not require an Office365 login. However, you must have an appropriate desktop applications use Office365 license from Microsoft through Cornell University (A3 or A5 license), your home institution or business, or peronsally (Individual subscription or Family subscription) to legally use Office applications installed on the Windows desktop. Future versions of Office may begin to require logins to access applications. Cornell University temporary staff are not licensed for the Desktop applications of Microsoft Office365. And will need to work with their department to purchase an Individual or Family subscription to Office365.
Office365
If you are a Cornell faculty, staff, or student, you will have an Office365 login to go along with your Cornell NetID. Except for temporary staff, you can sign into your Office365 account from the installed desktop MS Office applications. All Cornell faculty, staff (including temporary staff), and students are licensed for the web versions of Office365.
If you have your own Office365 account with the right license, you can also sign into your Office365 account from the installed desktop MS Office applications.
Poster Printing
Powerpoint is commonly used for printing to the CNF poster printer. Please use Powerpoint on one of the two Cad room computers signed for printing to the poster printer – these are the only computers with the print drivers set up to talk to the poster printer. And see the wall signage for additional instructions on printing to the poster printer.
