Spring 2012 Contributions

This semester is my first with the AguaClara program. I am on the Stacked Rapid Sand Filtration - Pilot Scale team. Our goal this semester is to optimize the backwash process of the filters. We hope to reduce the time of this process down to 6 minutes. We are also going to experiment with a 4-layer stacked filter, as opposed to the current 6-layer one, in hopes of reducing the amount of required material for construction.
