Untrusted warning messages when using trusted file shares are annoying. Here's how to get rid of the warnings.

Instructions

When moving files within the Cornell fileshare space, Windows warns that it is not from a trusted source. To remove this warning and trust everything on the cornell.edu network, follow these steps:

  1. Start Menu > type Internet Options
  2. Select Security > Local intranet zone 
  3. Click Sites > Advanced
  4. Enter "\\cornell.edu"
  5. Make sure 'Require server verification...' is unticked
