Challenges
- Accurately measure the flow rate of water through the sand bed for different sand grain sizes. This should be expressed as an upward velocity.
- Determine how this change in flow rate impacts the saturation of water leaving the bubbler (because you are changing the residence time in it)
- Build a taller supersaturator with a much longer residence time to ensure that the supersaturator reaches equilibrium over the wide range of flows needed.
- Accurately measuring the total amount of gas in the influent and the effluent
- Mathcad modeling of system (sand grain sizes, flow rates, bed depth, and expansion) relationship between bed expansion, sand grain size, flow rate, depth of sand, tank cross sectional area.
