Accomplishments

• Determined that shear stress at the plate surfaces, which causes flocs to break, is not the limiting factor for determining plate settler spacing.
• Began to sketch set-up for experiment.

• Collaborated with machinist to begin preparation of materials for experiment.

Issues

• Do not know exactly what the limiting factor for plate settler spacing is.
• Need to determine what spacing we will use for our experiment. Currently considering various spacings based on floc size and desired plate length.
