Outreach Team Goals for the Spring 2009 Semester

Public Relations Working Group

Working Group Director: Brandon Schumacher

Working Group Organizers

Chi-Chi Lin Wiki Master:

  • Updating wiki design and content
  • Connecting with Leopoldo in Honduras and cordinating the translation of the
  • Redesigning the poster using new pictures that catch the obervers attenchon vissualy and conseptually
  • Printing more pamphlets and distributing them to all admissions offices
  • Consider redesigning the pamphlets,
  • Redesigning the fliers, making them more vissually catching

Brandon Schumacher: awareness and funding contacts, speakers

Min Bn Event Organizer:

  • Requested event and presentation organization
    • Specifically organization of an event intails: finding AguaClara members to run the event, contacting the event requestor and asking if there are specifics that they would like us to cover, varifiing the date and adding to the upcomeing events page and the AguaClara calender, designing a power point presentation to use, organizing the demo plant (verify all parts are included, chemicals, clay), determining what hardware will be available at the site of the presentation i.e. computer with overhead projector, or will the Aguaclara presenter have to bring the projector and computer, or will the presentation be strictly verbal with the use of non-digital vissuals
    • Presentations ideally will consist of two team members, one experienced AguaClara
      vetran and one new team member that has never given the presentation before
    • Great AguaClara pulic speaking vetrans would include Nicole Cecci, Sara Schwetschenau, Sara Long, Ian (the snake) Tse, Jacobe Van Almelo, Matt Hurst, and Scott Freyburger just to name a few
  • Search for departments, classes, and specifically professors that we could pitch the idea that an AguaClara presentation would benifit there work and ours
  • When the above departments, classes, or professors are identified, organize the event
    Narrayana Pappu Budjet Manager:
  • Generally organize the budget into a clean and well organized format, one that could be quickly modified for presentation in specific grant proposals
  • Aguaclara form organization
    • Constitution
    • Writing up a discriptive plan of exactly what this will consist of
    • Lead class on Feburary 23: forum proposal to class, recive input from other AguaClara teams, construct the bye laws for the constitution

Trang Pham AguaClara Before and After Organizer:

  • Logging significant AguaClara events (four communities plant inoguration...) throughout the semester and creating a elumi newsletter to send out at the end of the semester
    • Looking into whether the alumni news letter should be print or electronic
    • If print is choosen, cordnation with Chi-Chi on a design
    • Locate the alumni email list that is located on the AguaClara Gmail account
  • Organizing a future AguaClara student team member list serve
    • This would consist of sending a welcome email with the option of leaving the list serve
    • The list of students names and email addresses should be organized neatly in the AguaClara Gmail account: Sign in name: CUAguaClara Password: 4cleanh2o
      Joe Redondo: grant design and proposals

Eunsol Choi: community education

Jacob Van Almolo: team motivation, strategy for Aguaclara expansion beyond engineering school at Cornell, all aroud good time, Aguaclara forumn

Scott Freyburger: team organization, team outreach connection with other subteams, organization of team outreach future, possible locations for Aguaclara technology spread to other parts of world, national PR

Deliverables

  • New pamphlet, poster, shirt and flyers
  • Many fabulous presentations
  • List of people that could speak in future Aguaclara classes
  • Updated wiki design
  • A whole pile of new team members for the summer, fall, and spring of next year
  • Large group of people and organizations that are in contact with Aguaclara
  • Much needed funding for new plants and people working in Honduras
  • Aguaclara cross listed class
