During the Fall 2008 semester I have been a member of the Outreach Team. With this being my first semester on the team, a great part of my challenge has been to familiarize myself with the project and the members of the team. I feel that I have been successful in learning about the AguaClara program through conversations with team members, asking specific questions, and paying attention to teach-ins. In learning more about how the project operates, I have been able to get a better view of how I may fit into the picture and contribute to the success of the program.
Specific projects that I have contributed to within the outreach sub-team have been the design of an updated poster, the recording of footage for and helping to design a video for entrance into the 10^100 competition, and writing an abstract for entrance into the IBE national conference. I also continue to contribute ideas and suggestions regarding potential future projects, proofread and provide input for other members' work, and help to maintain productive and efficient meetings.
