Start a Program and/or to Become a Host

Start a Program at your institution, your state, or your country
A person may take the lead in starting a program of JRCPF and identify an institution/organization, which would serve as a host for the program(s).

JRCPF Programs:

JRCPA is a campus community partnership award program which may be hosted within an academic institution, a state or nationwide. CASE grant program may be hosted in a department, campus wide, statewide or nationwide.

For JRCPA, the foundation provides, the Carter Partnership Trophy, the award money and the Carter Partnership Certificates for the winners and the finalists, signed by President & Mrs. Carter. JRCPF provides a tool kit containing among other things, templates for announcements, press, timeline, website posting information, assistance and suggestions for assembling a selection panel, making the finalists videos and other guidance.

For CASE, the foundation provides the grant money and certificate of Merit signed by President & Mrs. Carter for the student(s). The foundation will provide the necessary support in form of templates for announcements, suggestions for program video and photographs, selection panel assistance and other guidance.

Guidelines and criteria for JRCPA and CASE

JRCPA

JRCPA recognizes campus-community partnership programs that improve communities and enhance learning. The winning programs receive a monetary award, the Carter Partnership Trophy and Carter Partnership Certification. To be a candidate for the award, a program should have a strong combination of the following components:

Collaboration between a college/university (public or private) for two years or more.
Shared power and decision-making.
Impact on the lives of families and communities through increased economic opportunity, resourceful social and civic networks, or responsive public systems.
Recognition of existing strengths and efforts to enhance the strengths.
Data-informed planning and decision-making.
A blend of learning, research, and service for higher education participants.
Efforts to enlist other collaborators like businesses or other civic organizations.
Documentation of measurable outcomes.
Promise of sustainability.

CASE

CASE is presented to a student whose project proposal represents a promising new idea in community service in a competition. The grant money is provided to implement the project.
For a student proposal to be considered for CASE the application should have a strong combination of the following components:

Impact on the community through increased economic oportunity.
Improved education and community development.
Documentation of results.
Sustainability for the proposed idea.
The prospects of transferability such as, to another setting like the student's home state or country
Identification of the community partner's strengths and enhancement of the strengths.
Collaborative planning and decision making between the student and the community partner.
Efforts to enlist other collaborators ex: businesses, community agencies, schools etc.
