Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Corvallis (antigenic formula 8,20:z4,z23:[z6]) is a serovar of the O:8 (C2-C3) serogroup. 

Higher prevalence of serovar Corvallis was observed in humans and food products in non-European countries.

Genetic characteristics:

Animal reservoir: Serovar Corvallis was found to be associated with pigs in South-East Asia. This serovar was also isolated from chicken. 

Geographical distribution: Serovar Corvallis has been found globally such as the UK and the US.
