Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Bareilly(antigenic formula 6,7,14:y:1,5) is a serovar of the O:7 (C1) serogroup. Other than being derived from animal samples described below, serovar Bareilly has also been isolated from sludge, river water, bivalve mussels, and composite food (spelt with tomatoes and pesto).

Animal reservoir: Serovar Barranquilla was found in chicken, cattle, and fish.

Geographical distribution: Serovar Barranquilla has been found in Uganda, New Zealand, and the U.S.
