Image the source drive

Use Acronis True Image 2017 "essential" (one-time purchase, for Chemistry IT staff to use for imaging)

Boot off "Windows 10 PE", from Acronis. (Dells: Press F12 for one-time boot options => USB drive) Boot off of either:

• USB thumb drive. (Our "RedBarn" USB stick.)
• CD Michael created 6/23/2017. (Needed for an Optiplex 755.)

Set up destination to store image. Either:

• Plug in USB hard drive to temporarily store disk image.
• Browse to group's file share (use <as-NetID-adm> account) and arrange to put image in heavily restricted folder.

Select "Backup". Then:

• Settings, especially if deviate from default?
• Decision tree choices, especially if deviate from default?)

Image the drive.

If image is temp. on USB hard drive and not already on group's share, move mage to group's file share after verifying drive size is appropriate. Use your <AS-NetID-adm> account to:

• \\files.cornell.edu\as\chm\GROUP\Admin-only-directory
