Approach

Make each computer as identical as possible so that each can take over the job of any of the other ones, given the appropriate peripheral (scanner/ printer).

Reading the below table bottom-to-top: It's a "stack", starting with basic needs (OS and such) and ending with unique, changing, data files recording actions and results, near the top.
