Some modifications that could be made after the plant is built if premature sludge settling continues to be a problem include:

• Design the inlet channel to be tapered so that the flow is evenly distributed in each of the pipes. More concrete could be poured farther down in the channel so that there is less area when there is less flow so that the velocity remains the same.

• Round the transition from the flocculator to the inlet channel.
