We signed in as faculty with the generic faculty password.  In some cases we were uncertain as to the source of the problems we encountered; were they inherent in Luna 6.0 or simply querks of the text implementation?  So to some extent we were unable to fully test Luna 6.0 even from the point of view of whether or not the features worked. 

• Browsing & Searching Collections - Worked as long as the narrowing worked.  See comments about cross collection searching. 

Issue with captions---sometimes they showed up and sometimes they didn't. When images were moved to Media Groups they sometimes showed up and sometimes not; depending on the environment, we got different fields showing up in the captions.

• Creating groups - Every time that we created a Media Group we got an "unexpected error" message although the group was created. 

• Sharing groups - URL works; embedding works.  Got an error when we tried to make changes.  Couldn't export as a PowerPoint or other type of presentation.  You had to make it into a presentation in order to export it as such.  This is important for placing stuff on BlackBoard.  Also many of our patrons are totally wedded to PowerPoint, Keynote, and increasingly to the ARTstor OIV; they really want to export images directly into these programs rather than having to first create a presentation.  Since the OIV is freely available shareware it would be really, really helpful if Luna 6.0 acknowledged this and made it possible to export to it directly.
• Exporting presentations  -- Issue 1:  metadata does not export with the image, not even the caption information---this is a real issue; Issue 2: it seems that we could only export one image size rather than being able to choose a small, medium,  and large sizes.  This is necessary because our patrons will need different sizes for different purposes.  They also need to at least have the option of exporting the metadata associated with their image files. 

We had some problems saving presentations which meant that we could export them. 

• Cross-platform functionality (Mac vs. PC) - Did not test. 
• Cross-collection searching - The filters don't work well when narrowing searches; in particular the "when" does not function as a filter. 

We tried an incremental search on What=Architecture; then Where=Italian \[by the way Italian is not really a where type of term\].

We also observed that when we plan our implementation that we will need to be very clear about which types of data fields map to "what", "where", "who", and "when."  It might behoove us as a group to use Cataloging Culture Objects as a guide for determining which data fields go into these buckets.  In the current test "Where" is way too broad. 

One of our concerns is that it seems that all data fields are being funneled into "what", "where", "who", and "when" even if they are not appropriate classifications.  That means either that some fields will not be searchable (browsable) using these parameters or that we populate buckets with data elements that don't really fit.
