Information literacy (IL), always crucial to the library, is now an explicit goal for every student graduating from Cornell: “Information Literacy: access, evaluate, and use a variety of relevant information sources”- http://www.cornell.edu/provost/assessment/learning_outcomes.cfm . What does this mean for those who do instruction at the library, and how can we as a “one Cornell [library]” make sure that students get the information skills they need to survive at Cornell and thrive in a rapidly changing world? Join PSEC Instruction for an all-day “summit” to discuss how we can:
Your participation is crucial! A strategic plan is nothing without the input, work and direction of those “in the trenches.” We invite you to make your voice heard as we collectively decide how the library addresses this important strategic priority. Fill out the poll at http://www.doodle.com/fayy8urqy52xnbub by Fri May 13 to let us know what date works best for you to attend and send any comments or questions to psec-instruction-l@cornell.edu.
Best,
The PSEC Instruction Committee
