Search/Match is an extremely powerful feature in PeopleSoft. At Cornell it is primarily used for maintaining the integrity of the database, with users from many departments entering data into PeopleSoft there is always a chance for creating duplicate entities, to minimize the entry of duplicate or multiple records Search/Match is the utilized as a primary search engine. The three searchable ID types (called Search Types) are :

• Person (Emplid).
• Organization (organization IDs within PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions).
• Applicant (HRS_PERSON_ID within PeopleSoft Enterprise HRMS Talent Acquisition Manager).
