The CUL instruction committee has been charged with developing a mission statement and explicit learning goals that incorporate vision and goals for strengthening the library instruction program across units. The mission statement and learning goals will be unveiled by May 2010 and linked to the Workshops and Instruction page off the main Library website: http://www.library.cornell.edu/svcs/serve/classinst.
Both mission statement and program-wide learning goals are core components of an instruction assessment program. The subcommittee is initially working to develop learning outcomes as it simultaneously develops an outline for an assessment program. This program will be refined by members of the instruction committee and instruction libraries across CUL.
