Frank L. Huband

American Society for Engineering Education

Frank Huband is the chief executive officer of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), a 13,000 member professional society for engineering educators and institutions of engineering and engineering technology. Dr. Huband also currently serves as the Secretary General the International Association for Continuing Engineering Education (IACEE) and the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES).

Formerly, Dr. Huband was the Director of the U.S. National Science Foundation's Electrical and Communication Systems Division. He joined NSF in 1976 and served in the Office of the General Counsel. He held various positions at NSF, including that of Head of the Technology and Resources Policy Section, Director of the Emerging Engineering Technologies Division, and Director of the Electrical and Communications Systems Division.

He has served on the faculty of Electrical Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at Rice University and as a lecturer at Yale University, George Washington University, and George Mason University.

He received a bachelor's degree in engineering physics and a doctorate in electrical engineering from Cornell University. He holds a law degree from Yale University and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
