what i did this week

-contact/recruit people for Bridges to Community event
-helped Brandon with his article
-write/modify BioExpo abstract
-recruit people to present at BioExpo
-recruit presenter for Rockland county NY during spring break
-contact the SWE person about event details

Next week

-Meet with your very talented Outreach team supervisor tomorrow and learn about the demo plant. How to put it together, what pieces are needed, and where it is located in the AguaClara lab. Then organize AguaClara team teach in that would inform the whole team about the demo plant and how to use it.
-Contact Brandon and ask the names of three professors or departments on campus that you could contact and ask if we could give a presentation in one of their classes in the near future. Then contact the persons and organize them.

Chi-Chi

What I did this week:

• Discussed with Scott the goals of the pamphlet/brochure
• Created a mock
  -up for the Wiki in Photoshop
• Designed a header
• Presented the Wiki mock up to Monroe, Nicole, and Scott; exchanged suggestions for improvement
  What I will do this week:
• Create examples of montage headers and show them to Monroe, Nicole, and Scott
• Create mock up of Wiki (front page only)
• Create mock up for pamphlet/brochure based on previous one
• Organize "children" Wiki pages into 1 comprehensive site map to better understand links among intra-site pages (.doc)
• TO PUT ON HOLD: compressing

Scott Freyburger

Accomplishments:
-Contacted Jacobo Núñez about the 4 communities' plant inauguration. He said that there is not a set date because the plant is not currently running but it will be sometime next month.
-Asked Tomar to write up a brief summary of the 4 communities' project, which she did.
-Had a discussion with Joe Redondo about how the Funding Working Group should be organized. We decided that working on the three types of funding that are needed will be split up between group members. One person will study microcredit, one person will anylize research funding opportunities, while one person will look into funding for AguaClara team members pay checks.
-Delegated many tasks.

Goals:
-Meet with Min and show her the demo plant and fine tune the requirements for organizing presentations.
-Review the four communities' press release write up that Brandon and Min worked on.
-Find out how grad students are funded.
-Determine what tax bracket AguaClara is in.
-Contact Central Asia Institute.
-Send press release to NPR.
-Continue to formulate plan for microcredit and donor search, and work on model for determining communities in need.
-BioExpo presentation.

Working Group: Funding

Joe Redondo
Things done:
-edited Tech Awards Grant Submission and sent it to Monroe for approval
-continued editing 15 page packet, should finish this week
-asked Nayarana for budget info from IAF Grant (he got it to me) I am now planning on compiling this and sending it to Monroe this week

Things for this week
-got the Tech Awards back from Monroe, I am sending it Trang to submit
-Compiling list of budgetary info that Naryana sent me and forwarding to Monroe
-looking at Unicef and UNHCR for possible grants
-compiling a list of possible grant submissions for this semester
-emailing Monroe about tax status and Pilot Plant budget (Narayana suggested that I speak to the plant operator, he will email me that contact info.

Narayana

Tasks completed:

• Prepared and Submitted the extended abstract for the Engineering Sustainability conference
• Met up with Robin Remick in ILR about the possibility of cross listing Aguaclara as an ILR course and open up the Honduras trip to ILR students. Robin was very receptive to the Idea and is wiling to list Aguaclara on the ILR website
• Preapared a draft version of the constitution along with Jake

Tasks for next week

• Write-ups on BRAC and Grameen. Figure out if these organizations operate in Honduras and how they work

I confirmed that The Poster is Hung up. Helped to give a presentation for Bridges to Communities. Made new contacts at the presentation of potential team members Gathered new information about forming a constitution. I plan to make a new draft of the constitution I will: print fliers print pamphlets put pamphlets in HO admissions Distribute pamphlets and fliers to team
