Floating Floc Meeting Minutes
Fall 2008 Minutes
October 3rd, 2008
Accomplishments
- Spoke with Prof Gosset briefly after class about the possible causes of floating floc.
- Met with Monroe to discuss Prof Gosset's suggestions.
- Wrote and posted the minutes
Metrics
- Professor Gosset suggested that breaks in the transmission line could be letting air into the water that then gets compressed into the water when it is under pressure in the water pipe.
- I will schedule a time to talk with him. This one was a very impromptu meeting in between classes.
- Monroe encouraged me to continue on this line of research.
Accomplishments
- I now have a lead and something more specific to research.
Outcomes
- We now other leads onto the cause of floating flocs in our water treatment plants.
Issues
- I need to meet with Prof Gosset again so he can fully explain his ideas to me. I attempted to do literature searches on the topic just to realize I did not know enough about the mechanics of the problem to find anything worth while.
