2024–2025 Elevate Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Series Recap

The inaugural Elevate Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Series proved to be a transformative journey for participants, offering a blend of personal reflection, community connection, and actionable leadership development. Designed to inspire and empower women at every stage of their leadership journey, the program delivered far more than professional growth—it ignited lasting change.

Over the course of the series, participants explored a wide range of topics that often go untapped in traditional leadership spaces—executive presence, authenticity, assertiveness, and embracing personal power. Through engaging discussions, thought-provoking homework, and dynamic speakers, the program carved out a space where women could not only grow but thrive.

What Made Elevate Exceptional:

  • Deep Connections: Participants repeatedly highlighted the value of connecting with peers, forging bonds that extended beyond the classroom. The table discussions were frequently named a favorite part of the program, with one participant sharing, “The best part was the table time where we got to interact with people at our tables.”

  • Engaging Format: The intentional mix of presentations, roundtable conversations, and Cornell-certified executive coaching offered something for every learner. As one attendee shared, “I especially liked the mix of Debra talking, having presenters coming, and having discussions at our tables and in the whole room.”

  • Supportive Size: The small cohort created a sense of intimacy and trust. “The size of the group was a perfect number,” one participant noted. “I don’t think that I would offer a larger group.”

  • Integrated Learning: The curriculum was thoughtfully woven together. “The topics, presenters, homework, and executive coaching all tied together were brilliant,” said one participant.

Participant Transformation:

The testimonials reflect the powerful impact of the Elevate series:

“I entered this program feeling uncomfortable with my own power and authority in a new role. Thanks to the work we did together, ideas and techniques I was introduced to, and some productive coaching sessions, I am more comfortable and confident being and acting as a leader.”

“This program was life-changing for me! Simply put, I walked in a caterpillar and left a butterfly. It is amazing how you can grow when you feel heard and are validated.”

“Who I was at the beginning of this course and who I am now are two completely different people. I am more confident, assertive, and authentic. I have taken concrete steps to identify and go after what I want, and I believe this course will continue to leave a lasting impact on me long after it is over.”

Over eight months, Elevate created a space where women could show up fully, claim their voice, and step into their power—together. The program didn’t just teach leadership skills; it sparked a ripple effect of courage, clarity, and connection that will continue long into the future.

Elevate was made possible by a Frank H.T. Rhodes Leadership Grant from the President's Council for Cornell Women (PCCW).

Please join us in congratulating the inaugural Elevate cohort!
