CNF IT staff support WebEx, Teams, SkypeBlueJeans, Zoom, and Google HangoutsMeet.
250 Duffield Conference Room
While this system is part of the general use Windows PC in the conference room, you can also plug the individual components into your own laptop (which depending on your OS, may require the additional download and installation of hardware drivers). If you wish to do this, please see CNF IT staff for help. Or, via a VGA video capture device and video mixing software, you can use the video out of your own laptop/tablet with the conferencing software installed on the in room PC.
All hardware is present in the conference room, however, not all cables have yet been run. Use of this conference system means temporarily string a couple of cables around the room. Please see CNF IT staff for help.
Hardware/Software in the room:
- Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam at the rear of the conference room
- Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam at the front of the conference room
- Epiphan VGA2USB video capture device
- ClearOne ChatAttach 150 USB Speaker/Microphone
- USB hubs to hook everything together
- Telestream Wirecast video mixing software
The VGA2USB must use the included USB cable and must connect to one of the USB hubs -- the VGA2USB is extremely sensitive to USB signal strength and quality.
Conference rooms in the rest of Duffield, Phillips, and Upson Halls may have built in conference systems. These systems are supported by the College of Engineering IT Support Group.
250 Duffield Conference Room
As of November 2023, the CNF Conference Room AV has been upgraded to a Zoom Rooms setup with a DTEN75. Use the conference system by itself, wirelessly connect a laptop to share one's laptop display, or plug directly into the camera/microphone/speaker using USB and HDMI connections.
Users must reserve the CNF Conference Room in advance with staff. For best audio quality, use the ChatAttach 150 Speaker/Microphones for both audio in and audio out. Do not output to separate audio. The ChatAttach 150 has built in echo cancellation.
250 Visitor Conference Room
This system is part of the general use Windows PC. The system's hardware, in addition to the PC, is as follows:
- Logitech C920 WebCamBCC950 ConferenceCam
- ClearOne Chat 50 150 speaker/microphone
Be advised that within the video conferencing software, you will need to choose the correct microphone/speaker and camera devices. DO NOT choose the PC's on board microphone or speakers or the microphone / speakers built into the WebCam. For the echo cancellation built into the ClearOne Chat 50 150 to work correctly, the ClearOne must be used for both audio in and audio out. The ClearOne Chat is also designed to provide the best quality audio for a room of the size of the Visitor Conference Room. You may need to connect the USB on the webcam and ClearOne.

CNF's PolyCom is an older model system. Unfortunately, Polycom did not maintain compatibility between different generations of systems. Whether or not the PolyCom will work with someone else's PolyCom is unknown without first testing. CNF IT staff can help you test.
