Infinera Corporation

David F. Welch co-founded Infinera and currently serves as President and as a member of the Board of Directors. Previously, he was CTO and VP Corporate Development at SDL. Dr. Welch holds over 130 patents in optical transmission technologies, and has authored over 300 technical publications in the same field. In recognition of his technical contributions to the optical industry, he has been awarded the Optical Society of America’s Adolph Lomb Medal, Joseph Fraunhofer Award and John Tyndall Award, and the UK-based Institution of Engineering and Technology’s JJ Thompson Medal for Achievement in Electronics. He is a Fellow of the OSA and the IEEE. In 2011, Dr. Welch founded Students Matter, a national non-profit organization dedicated to sponsoring impact litigation to promote access to quality public education. Its first case, the groundbreaking education equality lawsuit Vergara v. California, is a constitutional challenge to several California statutes governing the processes around teacher tenure, dismissal, and seniority-based layoffs, in its final ruling they found in favor of the plaintiffs and declaring all five statutes unconstitutional. The case is currently under appeal. He holds B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

DHR International

Prior to joining DHR International, Lisa Walker founded and led Leadership Capital
Advisors, a boutique retained executive search firm with global reach. Previously,
she was a senior partner with Korn/Ferry International and a partner with Heidrick
& Struggles. At Korn/Ferry, Walker initiated, built and led the global sustainability
practice and the global agribusiness practice. Prior to entering executive search, Walker
was with BP Amoco, Air BP, as chief marketing officer for the international jet fuel
business. She also served as director of marketing strategy for Amoco. Earlier in her
career, Walker served as a management consultant with Bain & Company and A.T.
Kearney in strategy, marketing and operations. She began her career as an engineer at
Honeywell Corporation’s solid state electronics division. Walker earned her Master of
Business Administration in finance and economics from the University of Chicago, and
her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University. She
has been honored by the White House as “a Champion of Change for her outstanding
leadership in entrepreneurial mentoring, counseling and training.” She serves on
the boards of the Cornell University Engineering College Council, the University of
Chicago Laboratory School, RTM Engineering, the University of Chicago Medicine
KovlerDiabetes Center, and the Women’s Board of the University of Chicago.
