Spring 2009 Minutes

Accomplishments
  • All baffles disassembled and hardware removed
  • Baffles placed on PVC pipes and several spacers/washers were created with different types of tubing
    • Best tubing was selected: polyethylene (PEX)
  • Prepared for teach-in on Monday
Outcomes
  • Have 3/8" ID PEX, which works but is a little bit harder to work with than potentially using 5/8" which would fit better over the PVC pipe.
  • Ordered tubing from McMasterCarr.
  • Will be meeting with Sara when baffle system is complete to start the plant
Issues
  • ID of PEX tubing too small. HomeDepot and Lowes do not have required tubing, so need to order from McMasterCarr.
    • Not sure if bending radius of PEX tubing will allow us to snap it over the PVC or not
    • Are ordering product# 5181K28 from McMasterCarr: 5/8" ID Crack-Resistant Polyethylene Tubing
