Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Korovi (antigenic formula 38:g,m,[s]:–) is a serovar of the O:38 (P) serogroup. This serotype was first identified discovered in 1955 from the Belgian Congo, and has recently been found in organic tahini (sesame paste) from Germany, made with raw material from Uganda.

Korovi has been reported in several European countries, such as Germany, Luxembourg, and Northern Ireland.
Outbreaks:S. Korovi has not been linked to outbreaks.in 1955. FDA found this serovar in shelled macadamia nut.
