Rapid Response for Cornell Library Collections
MEDICAL OR CAMPUS EMERGENCIES: On the Ithaca campus contact Cornell Police at 607-255-1111 (calling 911 may result in brief response delays)
For campus emergencies, also consult The Emergency Action Guide.
In case of a fire or water emergency, immediately contact:
- Facilities staff for your library; For OKU, Facilities contact information is in the chart below
- After hours contact Customer Service: 607-255-5322
- Notify your supervisor
- If collections are affected, contact DCS staff 24/7 (contact information below)
Emergencies in Cornell Libraries
EMERGENCIES: In the event of fire, security, or other hazardous conditions, call 911 from a campus phone or 255-1111 from a cell phone or off-campus phone.
In case of fire:
a. Pull the fire alarm. (Public Safety and Life Safety Services will automatically be alerted.)
b. Follow the emergency evacuation plan for your unit or library.
c. Notify: PUBLIC SAFETY (255-1111) and individuals on Disaster Contact List (pg. 3), because a water disaster is likely to occur.
