Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Korovi (antigenic formula 138:g,4m,[5],12,[27s]:y:e,n,x–) is a serovar of the O:4 38 (BP) serogroup. This is a very rare serovar; one report in Italy found S. Ball in wild boars and a recent report identified this serovar in black pepper from Hungary.

Geographical distribution: Not clear
Outbreaks: S. Korovi has not been linked with outbreaks.
serotype was first discovered in the Belgian Congo in 1955. FDA found this serovar in shelled macadamia nut.
