Infinera
David F. Welch is a co-founder of Infinera, a leading supplier of optical systems based on innovative Photonic Integrated Circuity (PIC) technology. Originally chief technical officer, he is currently CMO/CSO, responsible for overall corporate technology vision. He was previously CTO and VP of corporate development of SDL and JDS Uniphase, responsible for technology and acquisition strategies. Welch holds 125 patents in optical components and systems and has published more than 250 articles. Awards include the 1992 Adolph Lomb Award from OSA, the 1998 Engineering Achievement Award from LEOS, the 1999 OSA Joseph Fraunhofer/Robert M. Burley Award, and more than 17 product-of-the-year awards when at SDL. He is a fellow of IEEE and of OSA and also serves on the board of directors of OSA.

Prior to joining DHR International, Lisa Walker founded and led Leadership Capital
Advisors, a boutique retained executive search firm with global reach. Previously,
she was a senior partner with Korn/Ferry International and a partner with Heidrick
& Struggles. At Korn/Ferry, Walker initiated, built and led the global sustainability
practice and the global agribusiness practice. Prior to entering executive search, Walker
was with BP Amoco, Air BP, as chief marketing officer for the international jet fuel
business. She also served as director of marketing strategy for Amoco. Earlier in her
career, Walker served as a management consultant with Bain & Company and A.T.
Kearney in strategy, marketing and operations. She began her career as an engineer at
Honeywell Corporation’s solid state electronics division. Walker earned her Master of
Business Administration in finance and economics from the University of Chicago, and
her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University. She
has been honored by the White House as “a Champion of Change for her outstanding
leadership in entrepreneurial mentoring, counseling and training.” She serves on
the boards of the Cornell University Engineering College Council, the University of
Chicago Laboratory School, RTM Engineering, the University of Chicago Medicine
KovlerDiabetes Center, and the Women’s Board of the University of Chicago.
