For Crane group's cluster users: Overview

  • Research data would ideally be backed up. Reasonably enough the group does not want to pay to back up some large data.
    • Rule of thumb: Back up data unless it's large AND restorable from elsewhere, such as the raw data.
    • QUESTION: Can this data not to be backed up be reliably and uniquely defined by extension name or other characteristic?
      • If so, can use exclusions within EZ-Backup to not back up this data instead of creating a dedicated directory to hold such data, for exclusion.
  • Research data (whether backed up or not) should be available from any of the group's workstations and the cluster.

Log in using your NetID credentials.

  • Anything you store within your home profile (including desktop) is not available from the cluster and .
