Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Concord (antigenic formula 6,7:l,v:1,2) is a serovar of the O:7 (C₁) serogroup.  This serovar has been isolated from found animal and produce sources.

Geography: S. Concord has been associated with illnesses in the United States and Ethiopia. Cases among children adopted from Ethiopia have also occurred in Spain, Denmark, and Belgium

Genetic characteristics:

Animal reservoir: Chicken may be the potential reservoir of serovar Concord. 

Geographical distribution: SerovarConcord has been reported worldwide.

Human outbreaks: Outbreaks:  Several outbreaks have been associated with S. Concord.

Border rejections: There have been no recent border rejections linked to this serovar.
