International PLC. Prior to Nomura,

Canaan was a Managing Director
and Principal with Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ

). Holding several
positions in research and trading, he

established the Special Situations desk
within the MBS Group at DLJ, and was responsible for structuring and trading
non-performing, under-performing and re-performing securitized assets.
From 2003 to 2006, Canaan served on the Executive Board of the Bond Market
Association. He is a former member of the Cornell University Council, a

member of the Engineering College Council, and the National Co-Chair of
the President’s Circle. He also serves on the Advisory Council of the Buck
Institute, and is a

Board member of Toktumi

(Line2) Inc. He holds a

Bachelor
of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (1986) and a Master of Engineering
Degree in Nuclear Engineering (1987) from Cornell University.
