- CNF Computing currently recommends macOS Yosemite (10.10) over macOS El Capitan (10.11) due to El Capitan operating in a sluggish manner
- MacPorts - installs with lots of dependencies do not work... try using "ulimit -n" to increase the max number of open file descriptors from 256 to something like 1024
- OpenAFS has not yet been tested. However, there are some initial reports that the El Capitan version works under Sierra.
- CORAL has not yet been tested.
