Documentation of the steps to acquire a license
Documentation of the steps in the current process required to obtain a license to practice art invented at Cornell by a faculty member. Include situations where the faculty member would like to (or has) set up a company to pursue commercial application of that art as well as situations where an external entrepreneur or venture capital group would like to (or has) set up a company to pursue commercial application of that art.
The CCTEC web site provides a web site with information for industry interested in licensing Cornell IP. The process is summarized in five steps:
- Contact a licensing professional at CCTEC
- CCTEC and company sign NDA to discuss technology deatils
- CCTEC and company negotiate terms
- Letter of intent/evaluation license signed by licensee
- CCTEC and company negotiate and sign license agreement
