Outreach Team

I presented a powerpoint and conducted a Q&A for the purpose of recruitment to CEE/ENGRI 1130 on February 5, 2010.

I helped confirm the pledge for a large donation pledge from Viamericas by contributing ideas for the partnership and editing a the partnership proposal powerpoint which . I checked the funding partnership plan with Dan Smith of APP and then emailed before sending the proposal to the Viamericas CEO.

I organized the fundraising concert event to take place that occurred on April 22 at The Nines in Collegetown. I booked the venue and talent and negotiated the fundraiser terms with the venue management. I commissioned and distributed print promotional material and publicized the event around campus and online. I organized outreach team members and other volunteers to sell advance tickets and distribute promotional material on Ho Plaza on April 19, 21, and 22. The event was successful, raising awareness of the project amongst students and $460 for APP.

I have contacted Fred Proby, the water specialist for Lifewater International, an NGO, and investigated the possibility of forming an ongoing partnership with Lifewatera partnership. I emailed him a basic proposal, followed-up twice, and am waiting for a response.

I wrote a press release for the EPA P3 Award and sent it to the Cornell Chronicle, Sundial Newsletter, University Press Relations unit, and the University Publications & Marketing unit. The press release was also sent to the Ithaca Times and Ithaca Journal. I intend to have the press release published in the Cornell Daily Sun.
