Greg Galvin is President/CEO of Kionix (Ithaca, NY), which he founded in 1993 to commercialize a novel micromechanical technology pioneered by researchers at Cornell University. From 1993 to 2000, Kionix grew to over 70 employees and developed products in inertial sensors, microfluidics, data storage, micro-relays, and micro-optics. The optical business was acquired by California-based Calient Networks in December 2000, and Dr. Galvin served as President/CEO of the newly-formed Calient Optical Components until 2002 when he returned to Kionix as President/CEO.
